2024 CIF State Wrestling Championships: Palm Desert and Shadow Hills represent DEL

Palm Desert and Shadow Hills represented the valley in the 2024 CIF State Wrestling Championships at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, CA.

Both schools had representatives for the championship, nine Aztecs and two for the Knights.

Brock Mantanona, Andrew Barbosa, David Alonso, Diego Costa, Diego Morales, and Chloe Overgaag highlighted the Aztecs, while Kaylin Montano was one of the two representatives for the Knights.

Mantanona and Barbosa had great runs as Mantanona won state for the 150-pound class, and Barbosa finished second in double overtime. For the others at Palm Desert, Alonso, Costa, Morales, and Overgaag placed third, fourth, seventh, and sixth respectively.

Representing the Knights, Montano started strong, defeating her opponents in a landslide, but came short in the semi-finals.
