Bicyclist taken to the hospital after hit by a car in Indio

A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after they got hit by a car in Indio Sunday afternoon.

Indio Police temporarily closed part of Monroe Street as they investigated the crash.

Officials said the crash happened just before 2 p.m. near the Hoover Avenue and Monroe Street intersection.

The condition of the bicyclist is not known.

Police said the driver of the car has been cooperative, and alcohol has not been determined to be a factor in this case.
