Indian Canyon, Gene Autry, and Vista Chino reopen through Whitewater Wash

Gene Autry Trail at the wash is now open.

East Vista Chino Road has reopened to traffic, but N. Gene Autry Trail and North Indian Canyon Drive remained closed to traffic due to flooding.
Updated post on Saturday night:
The Palm Springs Police Department announced that both N. Gene Autry Trail and E. Vista Chino at the wash were closed due to flooding.
The announcement was made after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
N. Indian Canyon remained closed at the wash.
There was no word on when the roads would reopen.

The Palm Springs Police Department announced a road closure Saturday afternoon.
It said N. Indian Canyon Drive at the wash was closed due to flooding.
Drivers in the area were seen pulling up close to the popular stretch, before making a U-turn, and taking an alternate route.
There were still other ways to get in and out of the area.
Other wash roads, including Gene Autry Trail and Vista Chino, remained open Saturday afternoon -- but drivers were asked to use caution.
