A cooler-than-normal, windy weekend

A Wind Advisory is in place for the Coachella Valley through 5 a.m. Sunday morning. Winds are coming out of the west at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts on the valley floor up to 55 mph. For areas of the high desert, like Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms, this Wind Advisory stays in effect through 11 p.m. Sunday evening.

Stronger gusts of over 60 mph persist in areas like Whitewater through this evening. The same low pressure system that's bringing us these gusty winds is the reason for a significant drop in temperatures. Palm Springs recorded a high of 92°, when just two days ago that temperature was at 110°. Tomorrow will be a couple degrees warmer, but still in the 90s for a sunshine-filled Sunday.

We'll enjoy these cooler conditions for a few more days before it's back to the triple digits!
