First Alert Weather Alert: Storm approaches West Coast

Today will be mostly sunny and mild, but changes are on the way. A storm is just off the coast and will slowly cross California over the next few days bringing the chance of showers here on the Valley floor along with some light snow in the highest elevations of local mountains.

Rainfall potential for the Valley is pretty low, with totals running at or below a tenth of an inch. Totals will be higher near the coast and on the Western facing slopes of the mountains.

Highs today will run in the lower 80s.

By tomorrow afternoon, showers are likely around much of the region, including here in the Valley.

We could see periodic showers through early Saturday as this slow moving storm takes its time clearing the region. A First Alert Weather Alert will go into effect tomorrow at noon tomorrow lasting until 7 a.m. Thursday.
