A warm start to the week but Thursday brings a First Alert Weather Alert for rain.

Warmer than normal conditions will persist through tomorrow as a ridge of high pressure keeps most of the Western U.S. above normal.

Today, highs will be on track to reach nearly 80 degrees late this afternoon.

Later this week some major changes on the way, with a significant front moving across the region. Clouds will arrive late Wednesday, with rain likely heading into Thursday. Rain will taper to showers by Friday, with much cooler temps sticking around through the weekend.

A First Alert Weather Alert will be in effect from 5 a.m. Thursday until Noon Friday as there is the potential of wash and street level flooding for the entire region.

Given the chance of rain and snow in local mountain communities, we anticipate a First Alert Weather Alert for Thursday, with the potential for 1/2 inch of rain throughout the day and into the evening hours. Highs will hover in the middle 60s through the weekend.
