Heat Peaking Before Humidity & Seasonal Cooldown Return Late Week

High pressure will keep the heat going through the middle of the week, with highs peaking today and tomorrow around 110-113 degrees. A few degrees above our our seasonal average of about 108.

There are Extreme Heat Warnings in effect around the valley--including for Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms until 8pm Friday.

Temperatures won't change much into the weekend, but we should shave off a 1-3 degrees late week and into the weekend as that ridge begins shifting east.

Monsoonal moisture will also make a modest comeback beginning Thursday, bringing a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms for the mountains and deserts through the weekend.

The Coachella Valley will likely stay dry but you can expect humidity to make temperatures feel a bit more uncomfortable.
