Cooler Labor Day Weekend with Small Shower Chances Sunday AM

Happy Friday! We're heading into Labor Day weekend with cooler than normal temperatures, but increasing humidity, clouds and some rain chances all on the rise as moisture from Hurricane Marie moves into Southern California.

Marie will remain well southwest of our coastline, so we're not expecting any direct impacts, but its tropical moisture could bring periods of light to locally moderate showers to the desert—especially Sunday, which remains our best chance for rain locally. Though rain chances are not high.

There’s also a slight chance for thunderstorms Sunday afternoon, mainly over the San Bernardino Mountains and High Desert, though widespread cloud cover could limit storm development.

The added clouds and moisture will keep daytime highs below average through the holiday weekend before we dry out and warm up a bit for Labor Day Monday and Tuesday.

Another push of moisture could bring back a slight chance for mountain showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday.
