Major Warming Trend on the Way

The heat is coming back in a serious way! Today, we expect near seasonal highs in the mid-nineties, and tomorrow as well, but by Sunday we're into the triple digits and an excessive heat watch will become an excessive heat warning from the 25th through the 29th.

Today, a weak trough up North will give us gusty winds through the evening hours, and help to keep our temps in the nineties, but that trough weakens into Saturday and Sunday, paving the way for hotter temps.

Into next week, highs will approach 110 degrees, with Memorial already a scorching 105.

Unrelated to weather, there was a significant 6.1 magnitude earthquake this morning off the coast of Baja, which rattled windows and nerves.

Stay safe and well, and have a great Memorial Day weekend. Remember to pause and honor those who gave their lives to support the freedoms of our Country.
