The average for Palm Springs today is 68°. Yesterday, the high was 77°, today, the lower 70's. This cooling trend will continue as a trough of low pressure moves into the region. The reason we still stayed warmer today is because a ridge is still in place. Winds shifted onshore and that helped the cooling begin.

By Thursday, this approaching trough will sink down and cool temperatures into the mid to upper 60's. The mountains could see a chance for some light rain and a dusting of mountain snow. Snow elevations will be between 5000 ft. to 5500 ft. Accumulation is expected to be very little. Best chance for a dusting of snow will be the San Bernardino County mountains. Areas of gusty winds on Thursday out of the west will also move in with this approaching system, mostly for the mountains.

Temperatures will continue to slowly cool and remain closer to average through the next few days. Temperatures in the 60's are expected heading into the weekend as well.
