Tracking the next winter storm

A low pressure system will be sweeping across the Golden State on Thursday bringing rain, snow, and wind with it. The significant impact from this storm will be much farther north where there are Winter Storm Warnings in effect and several inches of snowfall are expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory is has been issued for San Bernardino County mountains beginning Thursday evening for 2-5 inches. Riverside County mountains will receives less than 2".

A few light showers are possible around the Coachella Valley Thursday night but accumulation will not be notable.

Wind will be a bigger impact for the desert with gusts up to 50 MPH along the interstate and through the pass.

Temperatures will cool slightly as the front passes, dipping into the mid 60s on Friday before a warm-up returns and we find ourselves in the mid 70s by Sunday.
