Triple digit heat returns to the desert

After a brief dip into the 90s over the weekend, triple digit temperatures have moved back into the Coachella Valley. Palm Springs and Thermal both made it to the century mark this afternoon.

Temperatures will remain warm through the evening, nearing the upper 80s around 9:00 p.m., paired with clear skies and a mild breeze.

A ridge of high pressure is building back over the west coast and our temperatures will be quick to reflect the changing weather pattern.

An Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect at 10:00 Tuesday morning for dangerous temperatures expected for the remainder of the work week.

Temperatures will continue to climb through midweek. Record high temperatures look to be tied/broken on Wednesday and Thursday.
