Record heat in Palm Springs

108° was recorded at the Palm Springs International Airport this afternoon, tying the record set in 1963. Thermal also reached 108° but remained below record level for the city.

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect through the end of the work week for temperatures 15-20° above normal.

Today is the third day in a row of triple digit temperatures and we'll continue to watch that number rise into the weekend.

A more notable drop in temperatures will hold off until early next week with highs in the 80s/90s expected.
