Temperatures on the rise

We've felt a gradual warming through the holiday weekend but the heat is just getting started. A ridge of high pressure has moved over the west coast and won't be leaving for several days. This means warm, sinking air creating uncomfortable conditions for the week.

An Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect tomorrow at noon for all of the Coachella Valley. The low desert will be experiencing temperatures 10-20° above normal.

The hottest days this week look to be Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures over 110°. The main day to watch for record temperatures is Wednesday where the 1968 record of 112° will be within reach.
