Starting February with seasonable temperatures

It's February, and what a wonderful start to the month it has been! Temperatures around the Coachella Valley were able to warm into the low 70s this afternoon after a chilly start with lows in the 40s.

A weak ridge of high pressure is taking shape over the Western United States. This will keep us dry and warm through the start of the new month. A passing shortwave will send clouds overhead Thursday afternoon through Friday, but no precipitation will fall.

An average high for this time of year is 72°. Seasonable temperatures will be felt each afternoon but follow a warming trend into the start of the weekend. On Sunday, onshore flow will strengthen, bringing breezy conditions to the mountains and desert to start off the next work week.
