Drying and warming trend continues throughout the week

Our dew points today are fairly similar to yesterday, albeit slightly lower. Our relative humidity levels are also on their way down with most valley cities seeing values below 15%. While our humidity levels remain low, there remains an elevated risk for fire weather conditions across the Southland.

Winds today on the valley floor are fairly weak. Even as we move through the evening hours, we are not tracking a big increase in our winds. The San Gorgonio Pass, however, will see some stronger winds, partly thanks to the offshore flow.

High pressure is taking over the west coast. This is responsible to the offshore wind event today, but also for the warming and drying trend we are feeling. High pressure will continue to take hold over the next few days leading to temperatures around 100° for Thursday and lasting through the weekend.

As previously mentioned, we are currently in the midst of a warming trend. Temperatures will be above average staring tomorrow and lasting through the beginning of next week. Skies will be predominantly clear during this time.
