Santa Ana winds return Sunday

While we continue to slowly dry out following this last week's rain, Santa Ana winds should do the trick Sunday and Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory that includes the Coachella Valley from overnight through tomorrow late afternoon.

Winds are likely to strengthen in areas of higher elevation surrounding the valley Sunday night and Monday. Desert Hot Springs could see stronger winds, upwards of 40 mph, but most cities will remain breezy at times. The First Alert Weather Team will continue to monitor air quality impacts.

Following Santa Ana winds, temperatures jump back to the upper 70s with dry conditions. Cooler temperatures arrive by next weekend, likely meaning more onshore winds for the valley by Saturday. Overnight low temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s.
