Mild weekend continues, windy start to the work week

High pressure will continue to keep conditions warm and dry throughout Sunday.

An incoming low pressure system off the coast is set to bring light showers and gusty winds to our region early next week.

Scattered showers are expected to mainly impact areas west starting Monday afternoon through Tuesday. While light showers may drift onto the valley floor, significant accumulation is not expected. The First Alert Weather Team will continue to monitor the chance of mountain runoff which may lead to flooding.

The biggest impact with this next system will be stronger winds. Winds are expected to strengthen locally as early as Sunday night. Winds could reach up to 20-30 MPH for most valley cities while areas in the High Desert could see winds over 30 MPH, Monday through Tuesday afternoon. Winds could reach over 40 MPH through the San Gorgonio Pass. Drive with care and secure any outdoor property.

Calmer and drier conditions will return near the middle of the work week. Another incoming low pressure system will increase the chance for another round of cool, wet weather next weekend.
