Warm and dry for the weekend

Warmer than yesterday, temperatures have climbed into the upper 70s and low 80s around the Coachella Valley this afternoon. We'll cool into the mid-60s close to 9:00 p.m. with a continued cooling into the low-50s early Saturday morning.

Subtle warming will continue into the weekend, with plenty of sunshine for all the events taking place in the desert. Heading out to the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells? Don't forget the SPF while watching the matches!

Clouds will begin to increase early next week, but the current forecast maintains a dry outlook. Instead, the focus will be on the wind. Gusts of 25-30 MPH are possible Monday and Tuesday, with stronger gusts expected Thursday.
