First Alert Weather Alert: Yet another day of gusty and dusty weather in the desert

0:00/ 0:00LIVEQualityAuto  AudioSubtitleSpeedNormal

Happy Friday! It's another gross day here in the valley with gusty winds and significant air quality impacts. Winds will stay breezy to gusty throughout the day, with the strongest winds expected this evening. We also remain under an Air Quality Alert through 11:59 PM.

This all comes from a large area of low pressure in the Pacific Northwest. Even as we head into this weekend, the winds are likely to stay a bit elevated, just not as strong as during the workweek. Even as winds begin to subside, it will take some time for the dust and sand to settle out of the atmosphere.

We have extended the First Alert Weather Alert through 11:59 PM this evening as the winds look to stay elevated this evening. Even if they subside, it will take some time for the air quality to improve. Temperatures will stay in the mid-low 80s over the coming days and skies will stay mostly clear.
