Staying above average this weekend ahead of warmer temps next week
THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – Pool weather is lingering here in the Coachella Valley! Highs have been cooler than yesterday – when we recorded a high of 96° in Palm Springs – but we're still holding in the 90s through the weekend... ahead of even warmer temperatures by the middle of next week.
So far, spots like the pool at the Westin Rancho Mirage have been great spots to cool off. We've been seeing plenty of folks doing just that on this beautiful Saturday:

Tonight, we're continuing to see the onshore flow pattern in SoCal bring some breezy conditions to some spots, particularly the passes and High Desert. Gusts could reach around 40-45 MPH through the passes, so keep that in mind if you'll be driving through the area this evening.

Tomorrow, expect highs again in the low 90s, very similar to today's temps. The average for this time of the year is 88°.

Here's a look at what we've experienced in the past week... we were previously teased by much cooler and fall-like weather, but it's been stubbornly warmer than usual over the past few days.

A warming trend takes us into the mid-90s by Wednesday, with the hottest days of the week expected Tuesday through Thursday. Very slow cooling starts to occur as we look towards the end of the month (and Halloween!) but at this point, we're still tracking above average temps in the low 90s by the turn of the month.
