Warmer than normal all week long

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – 90s to wrap up the end of October? That's exactly what we're feeling as we enter the final week of the month. Highs have been above normal this weekend, and it will likely stay that way this workweek.

Tonight, we're tracking some lingering breezes in our more wind-prone spots, like the Banning Pass and along the I-10. Desert Hot Springs and the High Desert could also be seeing some breezier weather.

These onshore (westerly) winds will become calmer into Monday. However, by late Monday, our onshore flow pattern is expected to shift into an offshore pattern, bringing a weak Santa Ana wind event to Southern California. This is leading to drier/warmer weather across the region... and some spots could see elevated fire risk. Those winds should dissipate by late Wednesday.

We're likely staying in the low 90s once again on Monday – again, a few degrees above average.

It's been warmer than normal for most of this past week. Looking at our extended forecast, we're seeing highs well above average in the next 6-10 days or so. It's an unseasonably warm end of October/start of November.

A slight warming trend brings us into the mid 90s by Wednesday before we level off around 94° all the way through Halloween. Personally, I'm hoping to see more fall weather return... but it might be a little while until then!
