Unseasonably warm weather continues to end October

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It's been another toasty day in the Coachella Valley as warmer than normal weather continues this week. A Heat Advisory for places to our west remains in effect until 7:00 p.m. this evening for temperatures 15-20° above normal in those areas! While warm here, it's not quite as drastic... we're holding at just about 10° above average today.

The weak Santa Ana wind event that has ushered in these hot conditions hasn't affected us much in the Coachella Valley. Aside from a few stray breezes, conditions appear mostly calm this evening. Thanks to this pattern, though, it's been exceptionally dry throughout the southwest. Dew point temperatures are staying in the 20s and 30s overnight and at least into tomorrow.

Those low moisture levels have been helping us warm up to our full potential each day. Expect similar conditions tomorrow, with highs remaining in the mid to upper 90s across the valley.

We're seeing some signs of slight cooling into the first week of November, but that remains far out. Our FutureTrack temperature outlook still shows temperatures well above average in the next 6-10 days.

Highs are still well above average as we look towards Halloween... and it appears we'll be in the 90s at least through the middle of next week, too. Stay cool out there!
