Tracking a warm start to the week, but some big changes on the way

We are tracking another quite warm start to the workweek. Highs today are again in the mid-90s. This puts us at least 10°F above the seasonal average. Yesterday's high temperature broke the record for that day, with a high of 95°F.

Partly why there's so much heat here in Southern California is due to a large ridge of high pressure over the region. The strong ridge is also helping push some frigid air into the eastern part of the US, with lows in much of Florida dipping into the 20s and 30s for Tuesday morning.

While a degree or two cooler, most Veteran's Day celebrations remain about 10 degrees above normal.

In the coming days, it will be our turn to see some interesting weather. A trough of low pressure will begin to move into the western US. This will bring a round of active weather to the region. Temperatures will start to noticeably fall beginning Wednesday. Cloud cover will also begin to increase. By Thursday, we will see highs in the mid-80s and an uptick in breezy conditions. Thursday evening into Friday will see a decent chance for some form of precipitation. Snow levels are expected to fall to about 6,000' by Friday morning. Conditions will improve a bit heading into the weekend.

This will be an interesting week in terms of weather across Southern California. Expect cooler, breezier, and wetter weather for Thursday and Friday. Cooler and clearer weather will persist this weekend. Temperatures stay cooler and below average heading into next week.
