Tracking cooler than usual weather this week

Temperatures today have been quite cool, staying below 70°F in Palm Springs. This is well below the seasonal average of 78°F. Temperatures today are so cool thanks to an area of low pressure sitting over Southern California. This is the same system that brought some overnight showers and snow to the Coachella Valley and local mountains, respectively. There is a small amount of lingering moisture, which could bring some more precipitation, mainly to the mountains, through tomorrow.

This week will be consistently and solidly below the seasonal average. This will be aided by yet another low pressure system moving down the West Coast later this week. This system will reinforce the cold pattern and bring another round of wet weather to the valley floor and the local mountains.

This week will stay well below the seasonal average! Expect some lingering clouds and wet weather for the mountains on Wednesday. A final low pressure system will move in to close the workweek ahead of a warming trend this weekend.
