Tracking warmer weather and offshore winds for mid-week

Happy Monday! The countdown to Thanksgiving is on, and we are tracking warm weather across the region. Today is notably warmer than yesterday, but still near the seasonal average for this time of year. Temperatures will continue to warm in the coming days as high pressure builds over the region. This will lead to warmer temperatures and to the development of Santa Ana winds. The winds will be felt most strongly in the mountain passes.

As people start to travel for Thanksgiving this week, there is some notable weather to be aware of. Locally, the biggest impact will be the aforementioned wind in the mountain passes. However, there may be some other impacts for those traveling to the eastern US, the Midwest, and the Pacific Northwest.

As mentioned before, highs will continue to warm in the days ahead, peaking in the low 80s later this week. Thanksgiving may be a bit cloudy. A system will move into the region this weekend. This will lower temperatures and bring another chance for some precipitation.
