Another round of warm weather this week

Good evening and happy Monday. This week is shaping up ot be very similar ot last week, if not even warmer. Today, for instance, we have (unofficially as of 3:30) broken the high temperature record for today. The record currently stands at 86°F, but we have seen temperatures today of at least 88°F. We are still waiting on the official high temperature from the National Weather Service. This is all a result of high pressure, which continues to dominate our weather pattern. This ridge of high pressure is what is helping funnel so much wet weather into the Pacific Northwest.

As more high pressure moves in from the Pacific over the coming days, the weather pattern will continue to stay very stable and persistent. This will allow highs to stay well above average in the 80s. There will be some day-to-day variation, but overall, there won't be any significant cooling for some time. That's what the warm colors on the temperature outlook indicate.

As mentioned, highs will be staying in the 80s for the foreseeable future. Expect sunny skies, mild winds, and overall dry conditions. Although warmer than usual, this truth is "chamber of commerce weather".
