Tracking a mild Chirstmas in the Coachella Valley

Good evening and Merry Christmas. It's very comfortable today here in the Coachella Valley with some lingering clouds, mainly near the mountains. Now that the frontal boundary has passed, we are left with cooler weather today. This, combined with the few clouds, will allow for our temperatures to cool off overnight down into the upper 40s by the early morning.

Another frontal boundary is moving across the region. This is pushing another plume of moisture into the region. This will bring another round of wet weather to Southern California. Showers will be possible throughout the day, but are most likely in the late morning and early afternoon. Given the already present cooler air, this extra moisture will allow for more snow to fall on our mountains. Our main focus for precipitation will be if showers make it over the mountains. Accumulation will be quite minimal. Rainfall chances diminish through the evening.

Highs will stay relatively close to the seasonal average into next week. Highs will stay in the upper 60s to lower 70s for the remainder of 2025. Expect a few clouds here and there. There is a chance for another system to move into the region around the new year, but details remain a bit fuzzy.
