Tracking offshore winds and cool weather

It is a cool day here locally! Thanks to the winds and the cooler air overhead, high temperatures today are well below the seasonal average. There are still some lingering breezes here on the valley floor, and that will continue over the coming days. The strongest winds will be felt just outside of the valley in the high desert and the San Gorgonio Pass. Be extra cautious driving a high-profile vehicle in these areas for the next few days. A Wind Advisory is in place for most areas just outside the valley through 1 PM Sunday.

As high pressure moves into Southern California in the wake of the low pressure system, the pressure gradient will allow for Santa Ana winds to continue.

This will keep our air very dry, and our skies will stay sunny. The high pressure will kick off a warming trend for the next several days, with highs peaking in the low 80s in the middle of next week.

Expect cool mornings and lingering breezy weather for the next few days, with stronger gusts just outside of the valley. Skies will be sunny over the next week with a warming trend through the middle of next week.
