First Alert Weather Alert Sunday as Tropical Storm Rachel moves in

After a day of record heat, we're expecting temps back in lower 100s this afternoon.

Massive changes for the weekend as Tropical Storm Rachel arrives late Saturday, bringing rain, wind, and cooler temps.

The most intense rain will arrive Sunday morning, but expect some showers late Saturday, and showers could linger into Tuesday as well.

Rainfall totals are likely to be significant, approaching 0.75" to nearly an inch in some areas.

We've issued a First Alert Weather Alert for Sunday due to the rain and gusty winds likely to accompany the storm as it moves past SoCal.

Temps will drop into the 80s and remain there most of next week, so there are some benefits to the change in forecast.
