Se presentan cambios en programa migratorio VAWA por abusos y casos de fraude

Thousand Palms, Calif. (KUNA) – De manera reciente el Servicio de Ciudadanía y Migración de Estados Unidos (USCIS), anuncio que la ley de violencia contra la mujer de 1994, también conocida como VAWA por sus siglas en ingles, tendrá cambios, debido al uso excesivo del programa y posibles casos de fraude. Con el pasar de los años  VAWA comenzó a ampliar sus capacidades, es la manera con la que muchos residentes pudieron conocer el programa, cuya función principal era brindar un visado para las mujeres víctimas de violencia por sus parejas ciudadanos estadounidenses. “El nombre lo dice, Violence Against Women Act, se dieron cuenta que no solamente las mujeres son víctimas de violencia,  sino que también los hombres. entonces uno de los principales cambios fue que tuvieran la apertura que fueran ambos géneros”, nos explicó Paolet García, abogada de migración. Por su parte, una beneficiaria del programa VAWA, comentó que el costo que pago por esta visa fue aproximadamente de 5mil dólares, casi el doble del precio de una petición regular. “Me solicitaron un testimonio, donde yo diga todo lo que estaba pasando, fotografías, puede ser cuentas de banco, cualquier documentación que sea válido para demostrarlo”, señaló Ana Karen García. Cabe mencionar que esta ley también puede aplicarse a padres cuyo estatus es irregular, y están siendo violentados por sus hijos ciudadanos estadounidenses “USCIS acaba de informar que ha habido bastantes casos de fraudes para esta aplicación, básicamente lo que quieren hacer es desestimar los casos  que no son legítimos y que tienen muy poca cantidad de evidencia  y aceptar los que realmente tienen un fundamento  y algún tipo de abuso que sea comprobable, evidencia psicológica, también se tiene que
