The girl was originally taken to Desert Regional but has since been flown to Loma Linda University for treatment.
CCPD is investigating how the girl got into the pool and for how long. The officer on scene said that there were a number of adults and children at the residence, but police are still trying to figure out if anyone else was inside the pool at the time of the incident.
“It is unknown right now whether the child was playing with children, being directly supervised by adults or what the exact circumstances,” Herrera said.
Crime scene investigators are currently on scene.

Herrera stressed the importance of CPR in situations like this.
“CPR classes are always a good thing for all parents they should know CPR anytime there is a pool near children there should be somebody supervising, directly supervising the children in a pool.”
It’s important in this cases like this to remember the ABCD’s of drowning prevention:
A – Adult supervision, hiring a lifeguard at pool parties
B – Barriers, perimeter fences and securing doggy doors
C – Classes including swim lessons and CPR
D – Devices, having life jackets and rescue tools
