Former Palm Springs stand out Rodney Butler signs with Seahawks

After an incredible career with the New Mexico State Aggies where he was the nation’s leader in tackles, former Palm Springs football player Rodney Butler has signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He reported Wednesday morning and after a passed physical he is clear to participate in all training camp activities. Athletic Director Dennis Zink is quoted in saying Butler is the first Palm Springs grad to make it to the NFL since 1982. He joins DJ Alexander (Palm Desert) in Seattle who was traded to the Seahawks in late July. A former Desert Hot Springs graduate Jordan Mudge is also in training camp with the Buffalo Bills.
