National Park Service using drones to help in search for missing hikers
National park drone operators have been granted permission to use drones in the search for Rachel Nguyen and Joseph Orbeso, who went missing nearly a month ago.
Operators who are usually not allowed to fly drones over a national park were allowed to, to help look for the pair.

Joshua Tree Search and Rescue said it’s hard to see details through the terrain from an elevated area.
Search and Rescue has transitioned from an active-intensive search to what is known as a limited-continuous search mode.
Crews have been searching for Nguyen and Orbeso since July 27.
The National Park Service and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have conducted an extensive investigation and search within the park and surrounding communities. According to a press release, the searches involved hundreds of rescuers as well as family members and friends of the missing hikers along trails and in the backcountry of the park.
The family along with NPS representatives will hold a news conference this Saturday where they plan to offer a reward amount for the whereabouts of the couple. Orbeso’s father will provide updates on the current status of the search.
