AMBER ALERT: Issued for child and father

The California Highway Patrol canceled an Amber Alert issued early Monday morning for a Fresno area girl.

The child was found safe in Temecula hours after the abduction alert was issued.

The alert was issued at approximately 2:00 a.m. Monday morning and woke people up as cell phones buzzed in the counties of Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial.

The Kings County Sheriff Department issued the alert for Aaliyah Gomez, 5, who was abducted by her father from Lemoore, near Fresno Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. The suspect was a Julio Cesar Gomez, 32, a Hispanic male, 5′ 7″, 180 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and puma sandals.

The CHP said Julio Gomez has tattoos on his chest, left and right arms, neck, and calves.

Police said the suspect stated he would not give the child back without being killed.

He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police thought the father might drive the child to Mexico.
