CHP officers said passersby saw the little girl along the shoulder of the freeway, when they stopped to help.
She suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
A truck driver who got out to help said the girl was shaken-up.
“She was not crying. I don’t have any medical training, all I saw were a couple scratches on her,” said Rick, the truck driver who helped the girl. “She gripped the other driver’s shoulder wasn’t saying anything or doing anything. She was obviously in shock.”
CHP officers say there have been nine deadly crashes this year, on the stretch of interstate 10 between Dillon Road in the East Valley and Desert Center.
