RSO: Man arrested for possession of fentanyl, meth with intent to sell in La Quinta
A Bermuda Dunes man remained behind bars as of Tuesday morning after being arrested over the weekend in La Quinta for felony drug possession with intent to sell, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
At 8:20 p.m. Saturday, RSO deputies assigned to the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a pedestrian check on the 79100 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta. The pedestrian, 34-year-old Jamie Morris, was found in possession of a methamphetamine pipe, and arrested, according to RSO.
A further search of Morris revealed that he was in possession of 15 grams of methamphetamine and 44 fentanyl pills and that he had intent to sell.
According to county jail records, he was booked into Indio Jail on $30,000 bail.
"The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team is asking anyone with additional information to contact Deputy Iniguez at the Thermal Sheriff’s Station by calling (760)-863-8990," read the RSO release on the incident.
Morris faces two felony drug charges: possession of narcotics for sale, less than one ounce, and possession of methamphetamine fore sale, less than one ounce.
