First Alert Weather Alert: Winter storm to bring rain to Southland

A First Alert Weather Alert has been issued starting late Tuesday and continuing into early Wednesday. Spotty showers have tried to develop around parts of the Southland, but the main event begins overnight.

Up to a tenth an inch of rainfall accumulation is possible for this first round of possible precipitation, though limited for the Coachella Valley compared to areas west. Snow levels in the mountains will start high, eventually dropping below 7,000 ft. Wednesday. Overall, this system will provide for rain than snow to the mountains.

Sunshine will return through Wednesday morning as the system moves east, but clouds will quickly return on Thursday. More rain is expected as a second wave of moisture arrives this weekend as we welcome in the New Year.

Stay with your First Alert Weather Team as we continue to track these changes.
