BNP Paribas Open presents the 2023 BNP Paribas Young Talents Team
The BNP Paribas Open will highlight a talented tennis youth team called Team BNP Paribas Aliassime in a ceremony at 2 pm at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
There are a variety of clubs underneath the Team BNP Paribas Young Talents Program. The BNP Representatives announced that they are expanding from the Americas into Canada.
Sam Aliassime, the father of Felix Auger-Aliassime, a current professional tennis player in the BNP Paribas Open, will run Team BNP Paribas Aliassiime. He won his match Saturday.
Hall of farmer John McEnroes, and his brother Patrick McEnroes, run Team BNP Mac 1 out of New York City; During Saturday's ceremony announcing the expansion in the Americas, the youth demonstrated a practice exhibition.
Fans were invited to watch at Practice Court 15.
BNP Paribas and the John McEnroe Tennis Academy joined forces to provide young American tennis players of merit with equal opportunities and the best chances to reach the highest levels of competition.
Started in September 2019, the "Team BNP Paribas Mac 1" program provides 10 promising American boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 17 with year-round tennis training and coaching. The program takes place at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy at Sportime Randall Island in New York City and is under the direct supervision of Patrick and John McEnroe.
One of their players played a match in the Paribas. "It's amazing," says Stepanie Yakoff, a professional tennis player and member of Team BNP Mac 1. "I mean, being granted a wild card to play here. It's been a dream, this also being my first event, I could never have imagined this in a lifetime, and having BNP back me on basically everything I do is so supportive, and it's a privilege to be a part of the team."
Team BNP Paribas Young Talents: A new team will be formed in the Americas in partnership with a leading tennis academy to include the most promising and deserving young tennis talents, often from disadvantaged backgrounds.
As they expand to Canada, Sam Aliassime will provide the same clinics to students from all around the world, but the Hub will be in Canada.
"The main point is that we’re celebrating BNPP’s 50 years of supporting tennis and its social impact with youth," says BNP Paribas representative Robert Madden. "This team includes players from countries like Cameroon and Togo in Africa - we provide them with financial and human support to compete at tournaments like the BNP Paribas in Indian Wells."
Players will train under the direct supervision of tennis professionals and legends. The program will build on the global roster of 130 players, which began in 2018 with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in France and in 2019 with John and Patrick McEnroe in the United States.
