Vista Chino open Friday morning. Gene Autry Trail still closed due to sand and low visibility

Vista Chino Road reopened to traffic Thursday morning and was open Friday morning as well, according to Palm Springs Police. Gene Autry Trail remains closed due to blowing dust and low visibility.

Vista Chino has been closed once again.

Vista Chino has reopened through the Whitewater wash in Palm Springs. Gene Autry Trail remains closed to traffic.

Gene Autry and Vista Chino have been closed again due to low visibility, officials confirmed.

Gene Autry Trail at the wash is now open. Vista Chino opened on Sunday, and Indian Canyon remains closed at the wash.

Vista Chino at the wash has been reopened. However, Gene Autry at the wash continues to be closed.

North Gene Autry from Via Escuela to the I-10 and East Vista Chino from Clubhouse View and City Limits are both closed at this time due to low visibility from blowing dust and sand.

Palm Springs Police Department announced the closure of Gene Autry and Vista Chino at the wash Saturday evening.

Palm Springs city officials announced the reopening of Gene Autry and Vista Chino at the Wash around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The Palm Springs Police Department announced two road closures early Saturday morning due to blowing sand and limited visibility.

The closed roads included:

  • N. Gene Autry between Salvia and E. Via Escuela
  • E. Vista Chino at the Wash

Meantime, as previously reported, Indian Canyon remained closed following extensive damage from Tropical Storm Hilary.
