Warm for now, but a massive cool down is in store for the weekend

We remain under an Air Quality Alert for windblown dust. This was issued by the South Coast AQMD and is slated to expire at 8AM on Wednesday. As of 3:30PM, air quality is being reported as 'good' throughout the Coachella Valley.

As per usual, we are tracking breezier conditions as we head into the evening hours. These gusts do not look to be overly strong outside of the most wind-prone areas, mainly along the I-10 corridor.

We are still under some high pressure, leading to temperatures around 5° above average for Wednesday. However, as we move throughout the week, a large trough of low pressure will move into the Pacific Northwest. While this will remain well off to our north, it will usher in cooler temperatures and some slightly windier weather starting Thursday.

The next seven days will see quite a shake up here in the valley. Temperatures will start to fall quickly after Wednesday. High temperatures for this weekend are likely to peak in the low 80s.
