Above-normal temperatures remain through the weekend
It certainly was a mild start to the month but as the week ends, temperatures continue to climb. The Heat Advisory for areas west of the desert has been expanded and extended through Saturday evening.
The ridge of high pressure that's been building over the West Coast this week will remain in place for the weekend, keeping temperatures above the seasonal average. Thankfully we won't be discussing records around the Coachella Valley.
Triple digits persist into early next week before onshore flow strengthens Monday afternoon and continues to strengthen Tuesday. Gusts are expected to exceed 30 MPH. Milder temperatures will arrive for the latter half of next week as a result of the incoming trough of low pressure.
