Heat wave persists through end of week
A Heat Advisory remains in place for much of western Riverside County. However, the Heat Advisory extends from portions of San Diego County through Ventura County. Currently, no active watches, warnings, or advisories are in effect for the Coachella Valley.
A large ridge of high pressure is dominating over the western portion of the country. This is delivering above average temperatures to areas all the way from Southern California to Montana to the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma.
Tomorrow evening, we will notice it become a bit breezier. As usual, this will be most felt in wind-prone areas like the I-10 corridor and Whitewater.
Friday will likely be the last day of triple-digit temperatures. Saturday will mark the start of a fairly significant cooling trend, with temperatures dropping to the low 80s by Monday. Windy conditions will be with us this weekend as well. Winds will peak on Sunday. Temperatures look to remain below average all of next week.
