Preparations for Modernism Week underway, “CAMP” opens to public Friday
Preparations for Modernism Week in Palm Springs are underway -- the annual event officially kicks off at the end of this week.
Modernism week’s “CAMP,” the event’s main “community and meeting place,” is located on North Palm Canyon Drive just north of Alejo Rd.
CAMP is the central hub for all things happening in Palm Springs when it comes to Modernism Week, the 11-day celebration of mid-century modern architecture, design and culture.
“CAMP is our community and meeting place. It’s a place where all the bus tours take off you can come here and have food to go, you can buy really cool products, you can eat, you can dance. We’ll have live music everyday available. We also have a film and lecture series going on in our theater,” said Chris Mobley, CEO, Modernism Week.
Entrance into CAMP is free and open to the public daily starting February 14th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s also the main spot for departures and returns for modernism week’s premier double decker architectural bus tours.
