Local Reaction to Kamala Harris’ Vice Presidential Pick Gov. Tim Walz

Vice President and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris has announced her VP pick, Tim Walz.

Residents from across the Coachella Valley shared their thoughts about it.

Some were surprised Harris chose the Minnesota Governor, others admitting they don't know much about him. According to an NPR national poll, 71% of Americans were unfamiliar with Walz before today's announcement.

But some who do tell News Channel they think he's a smart pick, citing his history as a teacher and veteran.

Others think he's too progressive and criticize his handling of the George Floyd protests.

Walz is known for his progressive policies, and has history of swaying Republicans.
