Storm Aftermath: Mobile home community impacted by flooding

As the biggest storm of the season makes its way out of the Coachella Valley, we're checking out the mess and damage left behind, including flooding and road closures.

One resident who lives at the Palm Springs View Estates tells News Channel 3 many properties there, including his, were surrounded by flood waters. He says this happens whenever it rains.

“Our street flooded, the water coming up onto our patio and encircling our home. We had no prior knowledge of this occurring in the paperwork when we purchased the home and the lot we live on.”

As of Friday evening, his street was all dried. But a different story a few blocks away.

Calle Arriba, which connects the northern section of the community to the southern section, remained flooded and muddy. A vital passage that connects the 42 homes in the north to the main entrance and exit in the south.

“Whenever we have rain that significant here the wash fills with water most occasions and because the roads that comes across into our community is deep, it’s low so the water just pools, in a huge lake.”

Some residents say they've complained to management about this problem, but have seen no changes.

News Channel 3 contacted the management supervisor who was unable to provide any comment.
