Coachella Valley businesses raise prices as Bird Flu outbreak hits supply

Egg prices are climbing as the ongoing bird flu outbreak in the U.S. has disrupted poultry farms across the nation.

It's causing businesses nationwide to increase prices, and the Coachella Valley is no exception.

Several restaurants around the desert are adjusting prices to keep up with rising wholesale costs, including Goody's.

At Country Club Cafe in Rancho Mirage, John Cuccio operations manager, said he's had to make adjustments.

"We've had to go up on the price," Cuccio said. "We probably didn't go up enough.”

In January 2019, a dozen eggs cost $1.55.

Fast forward to 2025, they're almost $5.

That's according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
