Suspect arrested in Twentynine Palms motorcycle theft

Deputies from the Morongo Sheriff’s Station arrested a suspect accused of stealing a dirt bike on Feb. 11. Just after 8:30 a.m., a man reported the theft of two dirt bikes from his residence on the 5000 block of Aztec Avenue in Twentynine Palms. At 4:40 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested 53-year-old Eriberto Nieves after finding one of the bikes in his possession.

Nieves, a Twentynine Palms resident, was stopped by deputies who were on a proactive patrol following the automotive theft report. Law enforcement then conducted a vehicle check on the 5000 block of Adobe Road, and found one of the dirt bikes in question. Nieves was then booked into Morongo Basin Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
