Coachella Valley Rotary Clubs, LifeStream host valley-wide blood drive

KESQ

PALM SPRINGS & PALM DESERT, CA (KESQ)- The Rotary Clubs of the Coachella Valley and LifeStream Blood Bank are teaming up for a valley-wide community blood drive on Saturday, Sept. 19, aimed at strengthening the local blood supply and helping save lives across the desert.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations: the Palm Springs Police Department Training Center, Room C, at 200 S. Civic Drive in Palm Springs, and the Palm Desert Family YMCA at 43930 San Pablo Ave. in Palm Desert.

LifeStream is the primary blood provider for Coachella Valley hospitals, making local blood donations especially important for patients receiving treatment throughout the region.

The campaign, carrying the message “Together, We Give Blood. Together, We Save Lives,” will also support FIND Food Bank during Hunger Action Month. LifeStream and the Rotary Clubs will make a donation to FIND in support of its efforts to combat hunger in the Coachella Valley.

Those unable to attend the Sept. 19 mobile blood drives can donate at LifeStream centers in Rancho Mirage and La Quinta through Sept. 19. Donors should use campaign code 9SUR to have their donation credited to the Rotary campaign.

Appointments are encouraged at LStream.org/rotarycv or by calling 1-800-TRY-GIVING (800-879-4484).
