La Quinta Cove Post Office to close after Nov. 13

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) — The La Quinta Cove Post Office will be closing on Nov. 13 due to a loss of lease, the United States Postal Service confirmed.

The post office, located at 51321 Avenida Bermudas, will be suspended effective November 14.  The last day of retail and P.O. Box operations will be Friday, November 13.

A spokesperson told News Channel 3 that mail carriers do not operate out of the La Quinta Cove location, so delivery for La Quinta customers will not be impacted by the closure.

Officials said retail and post office box services will be transferred to the La Quinta Main Post Office located at 79125 Corporate Centre Drive, approximately 3 miles away. Officials confirmed the staffing at the Cove location will also be transferred to the Main location in an effort to help manage the service needs being absorbed there.

La Quinta Main Post Office retail hours are:

Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
PO Box access is available in the lobby 24-hours a day.

Customers also have access to passport service, USPS Smart Lockers, and Self-Serve Kiosks. Customers may find other Post Offices by using the Post Office Locator tool for locations and services.
